1. Carleton Liberal Arts Experience
   • A week long summer program designed to introduce Carleton and the liberal arts through a thematic curriculum rooted in African American Studies.
   • Intended for students who identify as Black or African American or those interested in African American culture.
   • Free program!
   • Application deadline is April 7
   • Talk to your school counselor if interested
2. College of William and Mary Law-Related Online Education Programs
   • All classes are live, interactive and virtual
   • Financial assistance offered

     • Introduction to Law & the U.S. Legal System
       • June 24-27 or July 15-18

     • Intro to Artificial Intelligence

3. Riverside Junior Volunteer Program
   • 2 week long summer volunteer program
   • Different date options through the summer
   • Application deadline May 1, 2024

4. University of Richmond Summer Reading Skills Program
   • Designed and taught by instructors from the Institute of Reading Development through a partnership with the University of Richmond School of of Professional & Continuing Studies
   • Programs for rising 9th and 10th graders to expand vocabulary and learn study strategies
   • Programs for rising 11th and 12th grade and rising college freshman to learn college-prep skills to learn how to complete work efficiently and earn better grades

5. Sentara Junior Volunteer Program
   • A 4 week long volunteer program at Sentara Hospital in Williamsburg
   • A 4 week session offers 80 volunteer service hours
   • Application is due April 4

6. VPCC Stem Science Camp
   • Free camp from June 24 - 27 at the VPCC campus in Hampton
   • For 11th and 12th grade students
   • Hands on activities involving Geology, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics
   • Application deadline May 24

7. World Strides Veterinary Academy
   • Summer Veterinary leadership or career exploration programs
   • Multiple programs with opportunities to work in a zoo, help care for stray animals, or contribute to research
   • Locations in Costa Rica, Belize, Thailand, or two locations in the U.S.
   • Financial resources available of partial scholarships
   • Potential to earn up to 60 veterinary hours
   • Talk to your school counselor about being nominated
