Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation Scholarship Program

Description:  The foundation offers scholarships to the community that Colonial Farm Credit services in Eastern Virginia and Maryland. The foundation has 86 different endowments ranging from $2000 to $6500. The criteria vary by scholarship, but students only have to fill out one application that filters their information into the scholarships that they would qualify for.

Epsilon Delta Boule Scholarship Program

Deadline: March 1, 2024

Description:  The Williamsburg Epsilon Delta member boulé (chapter) of the national Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity is again offering scholarships for high school students graduating in 2024. Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity is one of the nation’s oldest and most successful African American Greek-lettered organizations. Established in 1904, Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity has a long and venerable history of providing outreach to African American organizations and causes.

The Grand Boulé Scholars Program (BSP), established by our national organization in 2010, is designed to cultivate and celebrate the academic accomplishments and achievements of Black students. To this end, Epsilon Delta Boulé of Williamsburg has established the Epsilon Delta Boulé Scholars Program. 

This scholarship program targets talented African American high school seniors who have been admitted to a 4-year accredited college or university. In 2022 and 2023 Epsilon Delta awarded five (5) local students scholarships ranging in value from $5000 to $10,000.

John R. Lillard Foundation, Inc. Aviation Scholarship Program

Deadline: March 1, 2024

Description: The John R. Lillard Foundation, Inc. (the Foundation) distributes financial assistance to deserving students who are graduating from a public high school within the Commonwealth of Virginia and who are admitted to an institution of higher education in the field of aviation management and/or aviation sciences. Unless otherwise directed by the applicant, the Foundation will consider applicants for both the John R. Lillard and Kenneth R. Scott scholarships. The Foundation reserves the right to award a $3,000 scholarship to two separate applicants or combine both scholarships for a single applicant, at its sole discretion. The Foundation has an equal opportunity policy for judging all applications.

Kenneth R. Scott Aviation Scholarship Program

Deadline: March 1, 2024

Description: The scholarship you’re seeking is named in honor of Ken and the many contributions he made to the advancement of airport management in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Scott’s career spanned 39 years with the Norfolk Airport Authority; 37 of these years were as Executive Director. His positive influence and energy spans beyond the greater Hampton Roads region of Virginia as Ken was instrumental in forming the VAOC, an industry group providing support to all airport operators in Virginia. Ken was extremely passionate about aviation training and education as evidenced by his role as an Adjunct Faculty Member for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and serving on the Virginia Aviation and Space Education Forum (VASEF) Board of Directors. VAOC is honored that you’re considering applying for the Kenneth R. Scott Scholarship in the amount of $3,000.00.

The Gloria Willie Bell and Carlos R. Bell Scholarship Program

Deadline: March 1, 2024

Description: Gloria Willie Bell and Carlos R. Bell, longtime residents of Gloucester County, Virginia, created a trust fund to provide scholarship support to forward the careers of students pursuing degrees in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or another related scientific field at the University of Michigan.

Willard G. Plentl Sr. Aviation Scholarship Program

Deadline: March 1, 2024

Description: The Willard G. Plentl Aviation Scholarship, in the amount of $2,500, will be awarded to a Virginia High School senior who is planning an aviation career in a non-engineering area. A certification of acceptance into a non-engineering, aviation-related postsecondary education program is required. Examples of non-engineering aviation careers include (but are not limited to) pilots, aviation maintenance technicians, aviation managers, etc. Scholarship applicants must have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.5. One scholarship of $2,500 will be awarded each year and is renewable.

Hampton Roads Chief Petty Officer Spouse Association Scholarship Application

Deadline: March 15, 2024

Description: The Hampton Roads Chief Petty Officer Spouse Association (HRCPOSA) will be awarding two scholarships. One $2000 scholarship to an HRCPOSA member/member’s dependent and one $1000 scholarship to a non-member Chief Petty Officer’s dependent for the 2023-2024 school year. The Deadline to become a member of the association in order to qualify for the $2000 scholarship is January 1st, 2024 at 11:59p.m. EST. 

Applications will be accepted beginning November 15, 2023. The deadline for all applications is March 15, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Scholarship recipients will be notified by email no later than April 15, 2024.  All scholarship recipients will be invited to attend a dinner and awards presentation on May 18, 2024.
