Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship Program

Deadline: January 10, 2024 at 5:00pm ET

Description: JRF Scholars receive grants of up to $35,000 over four years to supplement the financial aid they receive from their colleges or universities. In addition, Scholars receive extensive support services, including career guidance and internship placement, and attend JRF’s annual multi-day "Mentoring and Leadership Conference" in New York City and other regional events throughout the year. 

JRF Staff will be hosting a Q&A session on Tuesday, November 28 to answer any questions you have about the application process. Drop by any time using this link between 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM ET.

Tuskegee Airman Scholarship Program

Deadline: January 15, 2024

Description: Tuskegee Airmen, Incorporated™ is a unique organization dedicated to the preservation of the history of African American Veterans whose service during World War II demonstrated to America that the criteria for responsible citizenship are character and achievement rather than ethnic origin. Although incorporated in Washington, D.C., the organization consists of many chapters and a National Museum at Moton Field, AL. The Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation is located in Los Angeles, CA. Each year the Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation grants scholarship awards to deserving young men and women. Each year the number of available scholarship awards is directly related to income received from investments. Forty (40) awards of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) will be available in 2023. The $1,500.00 awards are for one year only.

Virginia Junior Chamber International Senate Scholarship Program

Deadline: January 19, 2024 

Description: The Virginia Junior Chamber International Senate (VA JCI Senate), an affiliate organization of the Virginia Jaycees, is proud to continue to offer the future leaders of America an opportunity to earn scholarship money for the pursuit of higher education.  The application, requirements, and student checklist may be found on their website at this link: https://usjcisenate.org/index.php/scholarship-program or navigate to www.usjcisenate.org and select “Scholarship Program” from the menu.

Please note that in addition to scholarship funds for four-year colleges/universities, a scholarship offering for students planning to attend trade, vocational, or technical schools is available. Applicants should select “Vocational  Application” at the link provided above.

Download and complete the application form the link provided above. Students should assemble their application into a single PDF file ensuring that all attachments are included.  The student’s signature and email address are required on the application. 

The deadline to submit applications is 12:00 midnight EST, January 19, 2024.

Kiwanis Capital District Teenager of the Year Scholarship

Deadline: January 30, 2024 @ 5p 

Description: The Kiwanis Club of Poquoson is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship opportunity to a student between the ages of 13-19 at Tabb High School. Each year the Capital District of Kiwanis selects one Teenager of the Year in the entire Capital District. The competition begins at the club level and then our club can forward one name to the comet at Division level. If the student wins at the division level, they then compete at the Capital District.  

Our club competition brings a $1,000 scholarship to the winner. The Division winner gets a $1,000 scholarship and if the student wins the Capital District, they receive another $2500 scholarship. Kiwanis is an international organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. The purpose of this award is to give recognition to deserving teenagers for their service to their school and community, citizenship, leadership performance, character and academic achievements.
